VIDEO AND AUDIO COME TOGETHER AT SND QUICK COURSE IN CERRITOS

WHAT
The first Video & Audio Quick Course was held Jan. 18-19 at Cerritos College near Los Angeles.

WHY
Newsrooms are under increasing pressure to produce multimedia work and the learn software that creates it. This two-day course led participants through a step-by-step introduction to Final Cut Pro and Audacity and offered advice on how to improve the quality and news value of multimedia work.

WHO
Attendees included photographers, editors and college students and professors. The seminar was led by multimedia journalists Regina McCombs of the Minneapolis Star Tribune and Doug Engle of the Ocala Star-Banner.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAID
"Absolutely helpful. I'm years ahead of where I my abilities were two days ago. High degree of understanding, friendly manner and I learned what I took the class to learn.

“It was rewarding to pull everything together in the end. Great help along the way. Learned a great deal from two short days.”

WHAT'S NEXT
Video & Audio Editing will be offered once more this year.

June 20-21: University of Missouri-Columbia, Columbia, Missouri
