Book your room early for SND Vegas

The Red Rock Resort & Casino is ready to take reservations for SNDVegas.

If you know you're coming, think about booking early. Between SND and APME rooms could be tight, especially on Monday and Tuesday.

Which reminds us to remind you: Remember we're meeting off cycle this year. Monday and Tuesday are the new Friday and Saturday.

We have our day-long quick courses and opening party on Sunday, September 7 (which traditionally has taken place on a Thursday). We're also doing something a little different this year and having some opening sessions early that first evening. Our first full day of the workshop is Monday, September 8 and we will have our awards banquet that evening. On Tuesday, September 9 we will have our own sessions as well as a couple joint sessions with APME. We are hoping to be a part of a Freedom Forum event Tuesday evening, which is why we moved our banquet up a day, but details are still being worked out.

You should also seriously consider staying an extra day. Your SND admission gets you into the Managing Editor's sessions as well as those being staged by the AP Photo Managers group. While we will have largely closed up shop on Wednesday, September 10, those two groups have another full day of sessions. SND is also considering having some additional hands-on sessions for those staying around an extra day.

If you're intrigued but not yet sure about that last day, you can book it now and revise your hotel registration later.

As an incentive to get you to book your hotel early, we're offering a "Registration Raffle." Be one of the first 100 to register and you could win one of five prizes, including a reduced room rate and spa/restaurant gift certificates.

Go to http://www.sndvegas.com/practical/reserve-hotel/

You'll find lots of useful and important information about booking (including information about the first night's deposit), a link to book online and details about the raffle.

Registration for the workshop itself should be available online soon.
