REGION 3: A NEW JOB FOR A NEW AGE
The Florida Times-Union and Jacksonville.com have posted an unusual job opening in the traditional newspaper world: a video blogger.
Are you entrepreneurial and creative?
Are you Web savvy?
Are you confident in front of a camera?
Can you report the news?
Do you watch The Daily Show with Jon Stewart?
Do you cruise YouTube?
Have you ever seen Joanne Colan of Rocketboom?
If you said, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes and yea!, we may have a great job for you.
What we are looking for: We are looking for someone who can anchor and host a daily news/features segment on Jacksonville.com and who can handle a variety of daily reporting assignments. We’re not talking about replicating TV on the Internet. We are looking for someone who can report the news with a little attitude and a lot of personality.
Some of the basics: We want someone who understands the Web inside and out. We want someone who can produce a short, daily news-features-talk-of-the-town show. We want someone who is creative. Really creative. Imaginative. Entrepreneurial. We want someone who can take part in the planning of news coverage. We want someone who knows audio and video and how to use these media to tell the story. We want someone who is confident in front of a camera.
