A newspaper owner, a glamorous star, and a pair of jeans

So, if you're Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) and you wanted your own line of stylish high end fashion jeans with a British crown embroidered on the back pocket for all the world to see who would you turn to?

Well a newspaper owner of course.

Specifically Bob Silver, a Winnipeg businessman, one of the two owners of the Winnipeg Free Press and owner of Western Glove Works, that makes chi chi jeans, not gloves, including the pricey 1921 jeans ($400-$700 U.S.) fancied by A-list celebrities, such as Teri Hatcher (Desperate Housewives), Jessica Alba and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The vintage style Taku Art Collection jeans are decorated in Tokyo with special hand tools, based on the buyers favourite style that is then given an original design by Japanese street artist Takuto Mochizuki. Takuto, apparently took a liking to Silver's jeans and used them as a canvas for his work which sold like sushi.

Latest rumour is that Sheryl Crow has been inquiring as to her own line of jeans as well. The Santa Monica Boulevard Collection has a nice ring to it.

No word yet on whether the Free Press is going denim, with each edition hand decorated by master Mochizuki.
