Session report: The Future is Now

Go ahead. Open the book. Turn the page.

Nick Bilton and Michael Rogers of The New York Times opened their presentation with a hysterical mini-movie about a Medieval man learning how to open a book and needing help to do it. He finally learned how to open the book, but didn't know how to turn the page. You get the picture.

Fast forward to today. We're taking the next step in how we'll deliver content to our readers. Rogers says we need to be everywhere because our audience will be everywhere. And we'll need to follow the audience from device to device.

The good news is that next generation of readers – Millenials – have a renewed interest in news and they'll consume it in any form that's most convenient. Now it's our job to figure out how they'll experience that news.
