Doing your bidding

The Silent Auction is up and running. Catie Aldrich and Jane Martin of the Boston Globe (pictured above) have been collecting and organizing dozens of donations for months and have wrangled some pretty sweet swag. Among the items up for bid:

-- Signed artwork from Milton Glaser, Seymour Chwast and Barry Blitt
-- Mounted photographs from the Boston Globe staff
-- Software from Adobe (CS3 Master Collection) and Quark (Quark 7)
-- A 40th anniversary collection from Rolling Stone, including a mint condition first edition
-- Two dozen very cool hand-designed Dalhorses from attendees at last spring's SNDS conference in Stockholm
-- Stays at the Bellagio and Red Rock Resorts in Vegas
-- Premium sports tickets to the Patriots, Red Sox (no, not for this weekend's playoffs), Bruins and Celtics
-- Future freelance illustrations from 20 terrific illustrators
-- Handcrafted jewelry, glasses, scarves and pottery from Globe staffers and SND members

And there's a lot more. Stop in the Georgian room and start angling for your favorite items. The bidding ends Saturday at 1:30.

Many thanks to Jane and Catie for their terrific work on the auction. All the money goes to the Foundation where it supports student and diversity programs, such as the all day student program that took place yesterday.
