Region 3: Anna Berken joins
The Florida Times-Union

The Florida Times-Union announced today that Anna Berken will join the paper as a graphic artist.

Anna is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where she created her own major in visual communication. She was a die-hard staff member of the Minnesota Daily, an independent student paper where she created infographics, illustrations and page designs and trained other students. She has developed a wide range of styles in digital and traditional media.

This summer, Anna interned in the graphics department at The Denver Post where she worked on many multimedia graphics. Her supervisor, internationally known graphics guru and SND Graphics Quick Course Director Jeff Goertzen, couldn't stop talking about her.

You can see some of Anna's portfolio, including links to the multimedia work, here.

Anna is originally from Port Washington, Wis., just north of Milwaukee, making her a connoisseur of all kinds of beer -- she even knows how to brew her own. Her parents now live in Sheboygan. Anna has had quite a few adventures in her life, including studying in
Peru (she is proficient in Spanish) and working at Yosemite National Park.

We hope to see Anna in the Times-Union newsroom by the end of October.
