Video interviews on graphics
help put the pros on the spot

Karl Gude and the folks at Michigan State University who are putting on that first-ever Information Graphics Conference have a good new resource up online, whether you're attending or not: video interviews with the graphics gurus who will be presenting.

In this video interview: John Grimwade, long-time Malofiej and SND graphics instructor, mentor and all-around genial genius, talks about the challenges of doing good work on deadline, whether that's daily, weekly or monthly. "It's better to be great at one thing than to be mediocre at several," laughs John, describing why he prefers the quickness of 2-D diagramming for most work at Conde Nast's Traveler and Portfolio magazines.

There are also interviews with Nigel Holmes, Kevin Hand, Matt Ericson, Bill McNulty and more at the site for the conference, which runs June 3-5 in East Lansing.

A quick program note: SND is not a sponsor for this conference (sniff ... no one asked us), but we do support learning about our craft! If you have questions about anything at this event, though, we ask that you ask the fine folks at MSU. Cool? Cool.
