SND/S: Almost ready
to set sail in Stockholm

Anna Ostlund and Anders Tapola tell The Blog that plans are well under way for the Society for News Design Scandinavia's annual workshop in Stockholm, which runs May 24-26 and features an amazing lineup of world leaders in visual journalism.

The SND/S leaders graciously invited yours truly to attend on behalf of the SND Executive Committee, so expect that The Blog will be in the Swedish capital even if you cannot. But, hey, don't let us talk you out of it because it looks like it will be both terrific training and the always interesting chance to interact with colleagues from around the world.

The Clarion is filling up fast, so if you do go, book that hotel now and be sure you get into lodging right at the site of the workshop. It's always a lot more fun when everyone stays at the same place, The Blog believes.

The Blog has also been drafted by Anders for a bit of podcasting and, if we can pull it off, vidcasting with the help our old VizEds friend Robb Montgomery, a speaker in Stockholm, and a group of students who will help us tell the stories. Apple has donated some gear for us to give a spin as we cover the conference as a mobile journalism reporting unit. That should be a cool experience, so you'll want to tune in.

Unless, of course, we can entice you to attend in person. Can we?
There's still time to find low-cost airfare (my ticket was far less than anticipated, and I'm even traveling on my favorite mileage airline). Plus, the workshop even has a deal with SAS if you book soon.

Consider coming to SND/S: It promises to be a wonderful time!

Stockholm is ready!

I know you can still get a good rate out of Chicago to Stockholm direct on SAS. The international lineup of delegates and discussion leaders is one of a kind.

I hope to see you there!
