available now for download!

The newest issue of Area-11 is in stores now!
Download your copy here.

In this issue...

* Find out in an exclusive article how the much-heralded Excelsior redesign was mounted in just one month. Alejandro Medrano, Operations Director of the newspaper, explains how two newsrooms worked simultaneously -- one to produce the existing newspaper and the other for the redesign.

* Read an interesting analysis from Javier Zarracina of The Boston Globe exploring the challenges infographics face transitioning from print to web.

* Check out the interview with Lucie Lacava about the origin of her famous design concept named "Hot L" ... and how it has gained global fans.

* And there's more information about workshops in Mexico, Boston and Colombia.

So don't wait one more minute reading this teaser post, download the issue now and read the magazine for yourself!

Note: The magazine is in Spanish, produced by the Mexico chapter for its members, but we're checking with folks there to see if we can get an English-language version since there is interest. We'll update the post when we see if our friends at Area-11 can pull that off!

Is there an English-language version of this ANYWHERE for us unilingual Norte Americanos??? I'd REALLY REALLY like to read the Excelsior article and the Hot L article on Lucie. Anyone?

We're checking with Area-11 editors to see if they can do an English version. Will update when we know!

We posted the "Hot L" interview here on The Blog, since it is short enough. We're going to need a few days for that Excelsior work and will want to make it a PDF. Stay tuned.
